Bit the bullet and riveted on the turtldeck today. It sure was nice to have this off while working on the bellcrank, pitch servo, push/pull tube, oat probe, ad infinitum. But, I do want to finish the plane some day, so on it went.
Definitely needed help with this since it's a two-man job. I lied down in the fuselage halfway in the baggage compartment and the other half towards the tail (no floor, tight space, and sore elbows). My son came to the rescue and ran the rivet gun on the outside while I ran the bucking bar inside. It was his first crack at riveting and he did amazingly well--I was very impressed with his "mad mechanical skillz." ;-)
