Brief Description:  Horiz Stab Incidence, Mount Elevators

Actually took Pic1 yesterday, but it is where I was working today. I had to raise the rear spar of the horizontal elevator enough to make the chord line of the horizontal stab (HS) level with the aft deck (and make it 0 deg incidence). Once I had it level, I clamped it into place and drilled through the rear spar doubler, rear spar, and the monting horns shown in Pic1. Not too tough--lots of shavings. ;-) (If you look at the top of Pic2 where the green spar meets the skin you can see the nuts on the bolts where they come through the doubler. The bottom two are blank holes, no bolts yet).

In Pic2 I've installed the elevators. This is the hinge bearing and the elevator horns (this is the area of the red clamp handles in Pic1). If you look at the center of the shot you can see the elevator push/pull tube that connects the elevators to the bellcrank behind the baggage compartment. The tube is rigged for proper length. It was pretty cool to move the stick in the cockpit and have control surfaces move on the aircraft.
