Brief Description:  Right Brake Line

Started with spending an hour trying to figure out a way to install the fuel feed lines--they go from the tank in the wing to the fuel selector valve. I bent some stiff wire in all sorts of shapes to get it to go where it needed to go. But, the gear mount and the kickplate flanges were making it pretty tought to get the bends right. What you can't see in the pics are the braces in the back of the gear mounts. They limit where you can run lines. Plus, I'd have to install the fuel lines and gear mounts as one unit. Forget that. I ordered some stainless braided flexible hose instead.

I changed out all of the bolts and nuts that I had used for fitting the gear mount, They had been in an out so many times that the locknuts were worthless and the bolts were skinned up. So, after removing the old onses one more time, I installed fresh ones and torqued it all down.

The installation of the right brake line went fairly easily. It is only 1/4" aluminum tubing and is easily bent into shape. I didn't bother with a wire and then measure and cut the tube. At the kickplate flange (left of the fuel valve), I unspooled what looked to be enough and just started routing it. Worked out ok.

Installed the wiring conduit for the right wing to the panel run (black tubing along spar). Hurt my hand on this part. I was pulling the conduit through the gear mount and spar into the area under the seat pan between the ribs. It broke and I slammed the back of my left hand into the seat pan egde. Ouch. Fortunately it snowed yesterday, so I buried my hand in the snow and kept the swelling down. Hurt like an SOB.
