Brief Description:  First Taxi

Drilled out a couple of rivets on one of the rubber baffles. It was not stretched properly. Once stretched I riveted again. Next, we started the engine to check the fuel pump repair. The pump did not leak so we decided to taxi it to the compass rose. We taxied and checked all the engine temps and pressures. The engine ran great. At the compass rose we ran through the Dynon compass calibration but it did not check out. Did it twice with same result. Will research the problem. After taxiing back to the hangar and shutting down, we had the following writups.
1. The brakes required quite a lot of pressure to hold. Will check again, next taxi.
2.Evidence of fuel leaking from the return fuel line inboard of the check valve. It appears fuel is leaking from the fittings and between the hose and fire sleeve. Will talk to Zenith, as the hose appears defective. I bought the fuel line package for the UL.
3.The nose tire is rubbing on the fork. Will add a spacer.
4.The nose gear is rubbing at the top near the viking steel bungee. The powder coating is the culprit. Will lubricate and it will lessen with more use.
Overall, the engine and aircraft performed well.
