Brief Description:  Swaged and tensioned rudder and elevator cables

Dean came over and we tackled the rudder cables. First we adjusted the rod ends on the steering rods and finally got about 19 degrees of left and right rudder movement. We needed 20 plus or minus 1 degree. Next, we loosened the turnbuckles so we could adjust the tension after we swaged the nicopress on each rudder cable. We swaged the cables and then tightened the turnbuckles until we achieved just about 30 psi which is what the plans called for. Next Dean got under the lower access panel and tensioned the elevator cables. He had to tighten the turnbuckles and achieved about 23-24 psi on the cables. Plans call for 25 plus or minus 5. We were satisfied with all the cables and will check again in about a week to insure the tension is the same.
