Brief Description:  Drained fuel from left tank

We let the fuel sit in the left tank for a couple of days to check leaks. The tank didn't leak but when we started to drain we had a leak where the fuel hose was clamped to the 5052 fuel line. The worm clamp wasn't tight. Once we tightened the clamps we had no further hose leaks. So after draining the fuel into the 5 gal bucket we determined only 4.4 gal filled the bucket. Like the right tank we have .6 gal unuseable in both tanks. Next, we wanted to start calibrating the Dynon Skyview left fuel gauge following the instructions. We filled the tank again at 1 gallon increments. There was no change in the volt reading until we put 3 gallons in. That may be our zero reading but we will keep checking. When we were filling the 4th gallon back into the tank the Skyview died. We were down to 10.7 volts on the battery and evidently not enough for the Skyview. Normally, our Daynon Skyview backup battery would keep this from happening but it's charge is very low. Will need to recharge it once the engine is running. Our plan now is to get 10 more gallons of fuel and add it in 1 gallon increments while we calibrate the fuel gauge. We will drain the 15 gallons and then fill the other tank.
