I decided to scrap the aluminum skirts and go fiberglass. I was unhappy with the fit. Mitch (RV-7A builder / flyer) went fiberglass with his. He's assisting me in this portion of the build and has been a great help. I first put down cardboard from under the plexi out to the fuselage to support and form the cloth. I then taped wax paper on that. I went with a medium weight cloth (8.95 oz/yd) and West System Epoxy. Day 1 went real well.
My Aunt Pat and I went flying on Oct 27. It was fun.
