Today I began construction on the workbench. Sonex sugests a 4' x 12' bench. However, due to the size of my shop, I opted to make mine 32" wide and 12' long. It is actually two separate benches. One 8' long and the other 4' long. Matterials consisted of 18 - 2 x 4s, one sheet 3/4" particle board (top) and one sheet of 1/2" OSB (shelf). Total cost for lumber was about $90.00. I also bought 5lbs of 2 1/2" drywall screws I addapted the plans found on the EAA web site for their work tables. The miter saw made rather quick work of cutting the parts needed for the workbench.
