Overall, not a very "good" build day, and in fact VERY frustrating.
Started off by correcting the install oif the 9" Tie Rods, seems there is a confliction (again) between the LSX & LSA manuals, regarding the number of washers next to the rod-end bearings.
Moved over to the 21" Tie Rod, messed that one up (my fault!!), so another order request from PA. Not bad though, this is my first part re-order due to "builder-error",, and surely not my last!
Moved over to the Throttle Assembly,, Another LSX/LSA confliction regarding the Aileron Stops (er, lack thereof!) The LSX depicts a "flat bar" pair of stops, mounted on either side of the center fuselage tube, whereas the LSA depicts a modified Channel Bracket, mounted below the Throttle Assembly.
Neither style of stop was included in the kit,, AND, seems my center fuselage tube has a different hole pattern from the tube shown in the LSX manual. Another kit upgrade that failed to make it to the book. So if I want aileron stops (which I do), I must use the LSA version (channel bracket style), and longer bolts. Another parts hold.
Argh!!
So, I then decided to move forward and work on the Rudder Pedal Cable Standoffs. Seems pretty simple and straigth forward,, right,,??
More manual confusion, and add to that, the AN3-20 bolts, really need to be drilled. Of course, not supplied.
Adding a couple MORE bolts to my AS&S order!
Called it a day.
