Brief Description: First rivetting - Vertical Stab rear spar
Today was spent riveting the VS rear spar, whihc comprises of te spar itself, a stiffener, and the three hinge sets for the rudder.
Initially this was very straightforward, using the pneumatic squeezer to set some flush rivets in the lowe part of the spar where it will eventually butt up againts the fuselage. Despite thta, I still managed to mess up the very first rivet of the aircraft! Ah, well - some quick work with the rivet removal tool, and you'd never know.
All rivets reachable with the squeezer were quickly set, and then the remaining flush rivets were back-riveted in place and the tungsten bucking bar and standard rivet gun set brought into play for the remainder.
