Brief Description: Response from Van's on edge distance issue
Well, Van's don't think my edge distance faux pas is as big an issue as I'd feared. They say:
"It's pretty usual to have bad edge distance here on the rib holes, so I wouldn't worry about that. A couple of holes with bad ED isn't a problem. The spar is a little trickier, because it may be too far forward, but you could fix that with a shim behind the rear flange of the 405 rib. If you want, you could put a doubler under the spar flange to reinforce it where you have the bad edge distance, but it's hard to get too excited about it, I'd probably leave it as is."
So, I may have got away with it. However, I'll chew it over with my Inspector before I finally decide what I'll do.
