Brief Description:  Inspect port HS; repeat process for stbd HS assemb

I disassembled the port horizontal stabliser structure today and - as I suspected - the edge distances on the inner part of the fwd spar flanges appear to be out of specification. The standard edge distance is 3/16" minimum between the rivet line and the edge of the part.

I will have to check with Van's and my LAA Inspector whether this is acceptable (and I doubt it is), but for the moment I am very annoyed with myself - a little more consideration would have told me that to crack on and drill the structure at that stage was a premature act.

What I *should* have done was to mark a centre line on the spar flange. That would have been visible through the pre-punched skin holes and would have acted as confirmation that I had acceptable edge distance on the flange before I commenced drilling.

Not surprisingly, when I today prepared the STARBOARD equivalent structure, I did mark a line on the flange and so won't make the same mistake again.
