Brief Description:  Drilled port Horizontal stabliser structure

Having cleco'd together the structure last night, today was spent match drilling the existing holes in the structure, and then final drilling the spars and ribs at the complex assembly to be found at the inboard part of the stabiliser.

This worked very well, it seemed, but on reflection I'm nervous that I have made a potentially major error.

The forward spar does not have match holes in the inner third of its length on he flanges, and the plans call for these holes to be drilled using the holes in the skin as a guide. However, the alignnment of this forward spar is dependant upon the inboard ribs being set up correctly, and a comparitively minor movement of those ribs can knock off the spar alignment by a few 1/16".

I've drilled the holes now, but am having a crisis of confidence that the edge distance on the spar flange might not be correct. I'll find out tomorrow when I take the structure apart.
