Brief Description: Left elevator - close up trim tab recess
In the same way as the trim tab ends were closed up by bending metal to overlap and finish the structure, the recess in the left elevator into which the tab fits also requires metal to be bent.
The metal skin is clamped in precisely the same way, after carefully measuring the bend line so that it is at right angles to the long edge of the cutout.
The gap between the outboard esge of the trim tab and the recess should be a maxiumum 3/32" - as you can see from the final picture the bend was not quite straight.
