Brief Description: Completed servo plate, cut trim tab horns
Just a short work period today. I had domestic chores (building again, but flat pack furniture instead of anything interesting) and - better! - some flying to do instead.
I completed the servo mounting plate by dimpling the holes where the plate attaches to the elevator, and installed the screws and nylon locknuts that attach the servo to the plate.
A check fit of the plate into the elevator revealed some fouling where the elevator nutplates encroach into the opening where the servo sits, so out with the Dremel to grind the nutplate edges back a little - out of the way.
Finally, I cut the servo horns - which will eventually sit on the trim tab - to remove the portion that is only used by manual trim. That was a quick 5 minute job with bandsaw and finishing wheel, which actually took 3 times as long as that whilst I triple-checked the cut before |I made it!
