OK; before I spent £170+VAT on 5 litres of replacement epoxide primer, I was given some advice by Tim Dews, who does this sort of thing for a living.
His primer of choice is a two part etch primer (again from LAS Aero), which comes in US Gallon quantitries and is mixed 50:50 before spraying - so simpler than the 2:1:1 proportion of my previous choice, and he tells me that it sprays - and adheres - better too.
He lent me some to try out, so tonight I gave it a go; and d'you know what? he's right. ;-) It has a pleasing metallic yellow sheen to it as well
This stuff seems to be just the thing, and best of all it's about half the price of the other stuff - so I have ordered some for delivery next Monday.
In the meantime, I tried out enough from Tim to finish the parts for the LH elevator.
