The elevator skin needs to have the trailing edge bent so taht when fitted to the skeleton the metal skin does not stress and try to spring back. This requires use of the bending brake made last year out of honking greatbits of wood and some heavy-duty hinges.
I admit to being nervous about this, but as it turned out it was fine. The key, as other builders advise, is the use of a 1/8" (actually 4 mm) rod temprarily taped into the trailing edge in order to avoid over-bending and potential skin cracking. Which would be... bad.
The aim is to ensure a nice crisp bend, and no bulges in the trailing edge. As you can see from the picture, that was successfully achieved.
