Brief Description:  Dimple RH Elevator skeleton & skin

Dimpling the skeleton was exactly as has now been done several times before, using the dimple dies in the pneumatic squeezer. I'm beginning to find that satisfying and therapeutic!

There are four holes in the inboard part of the spar, where the inner rib attaches, which are not dimpled but rather are countersunk. The two parts are attached here with flat head rivets so that the poder-coated steel elevator horn can eventually lie flush over the top.

The counterbalance skin has two #12 holes in it where the screws that attach the counterbalance weight pass through. These need to be dimpled out to accept the screw heads, so out came the handy dies that make the dimple using an Allen key and screw thread to draw them together.

Dimpling the skin was again mostly easy, but required a combination of methods. A hand dimpler or teh DRDT-2 was used for the majority of the holes, but those closest to the trailing edge made me nervous about over-bending the part bent skin, so I dug out the pop-rivet dimple dies in order to finish off the skin dimples.

Actually, that took far longer than planned because, on the very first use of the pop-rivet dimple dies, the female die shot off into the workshop as the dimple was set, and disappeared! Nightmare - another one of those could be ordered from Avery tools but would cost a ridiculous amount and take ages to arrive. And anyway, it's in the workshop *somewhere*...

I spent over two hours, off and on, trying to find it, with no joy.

So I slept on it, trying to visualise the likely trajectory of the offending article.
