So, after many months of distractions, the Christmas holidays provide an opportunity to get some momentum going again in the build. It's not that I've lost enthusiasm - far from it - it's that work etc seems to be even more of a time suck than usual this last year or so.
Anyway, today was spent fabricating stiffeners for inside the skin of the right elevator. This is an identical technique to the stiffeners on the rudder, and will be repeated again (this won't come as a surprise) for the left elevator.
In the picture you can see the L-stock material above the finished parts that the stiffeners are cut from - the left elevator parts will be produced from that remaining piece.
Above the stiffeners and stock you can also see the spar and tip end rib of the elevator skeleton.
