Brief Description:  Completed back-riveting stiffeners to rudder skins

Back rivetting is a very satisfying method, as it is relativly easy and results in a very fine quality rivet line.

What is done is to place the rivet heads into the dimpled skins, and hold them in place with special "back riveting tape", which has a central non-sticky mylar section to avoid material gettig caught under the rivet heads. The tape hold the rivets in place whilst you turn the part upside down over a great big flat piece of stell, which acts as a reverse bucking bar, and use a sleeved rivet set on the gun to form the shop head on the rivet.
