So the fixed empennage surfaces (vertical and horizontal stab) are done. Now it's time for the first of the control surfaces - the rudder.
First task is to fabricate stiffeners out of the angle supplied. There are sixteen of them (8/side) and they get shorter as you go from the bottom of the rudder to the top.
It would be a BAD thing to cut too much off, so I marked them out very carefully before takig a rough cut on the bandsaw and then smoothing off with the Scotchbrite wheel in the bench grinder.
This took quite some time, because I was going slowly in order to ensure no mistakes, but eventually I had just what I needed
