Although the MV New York Express docked at Thamesport last Friday, it has taken until this week for the wing kit to be processed and released through Customs.
I'd been in contavct with the shippers throught, and we'd agreed that they'd deliver today and that the lorry driver would call when he was about an hour away.
Great plan; what I hadn't envisaged was that the call would come at about 05:30! The missus was NOT impressed. :-)
The truck had no tail-lift, and my planned helper was still snoring away, so the driver and I gingerly lowered each 200lb box to the ground to await later lifting muscle from the village. It was a lovely late spring morning, so no problem with the weather affecting the boxes - which anyway are very substantial wooden structures.
