Brief Description:  Rivetted HS rear spar

Following yet more priming, it was time to begin permanently assembling the horizontal stabiliser.

The first thing to do is to rivet the rear spar channels to the two reinforcing bars, which includes fixing four of the five elevator attachments. (The fifth is bolted into place, and that's not quite ready yet until the bearing is primed).

Because the elevator attachments are steel, before rivetting them into place I dipped each aluminium rivet into 'Duralac' compound, which helps to prevents dissimilar metal corroson.

Finally, a mention of yet another improvement in priming parts. It seems common that the primer doesn't take well to the flanges of a part, and so I've found that a small airbrush (left over from my modelling days!) is just the thing for touching up. It even came with its own mini-compressor - very handy.
