I decided to take advantege of the unseasonably warm weather, almost 60 degrees and work on the trailer. I will need to have the ship out of the shop in order to install the blades/rotor head. Once on it wll not fit back in the shop so the trailer has to be ready.
I bought a 88" by 16' aluminum trailer from Aluma. I comes with the loading ramps shown in the pictures. I bought the aluminum one so that I can move it around by myself. The floor is not thick enough to anchor the ship to however.
In the photo you can see two of the four brackets I made for the hold downs. These will be welded to the main frame of the trailer. Holes will be drill through the floor and the brackets. A steel nut plate will be attached to the bracket for the hold down bolt to screw into.
The angle is 4" on each side and 1/2" thick. The supports I welded in are 3/8" thick. Now I have to crawl under the trailer and weld these in.
