Today I was going to get the bubble final installed, but you know what they say. Photo 1 shows part of the problem. The new bubble pushed the rear sheet metal back by about 1/2" or so. Notice how the front control rod now goes through the eye brow portion of the rear metal.
Originaly I thought I could simply dimple the metal for clearance but as I got further into it, it became apparant that much metal would need to be cut away. I may actually have to go a little deeper before I am done.
Another problem raised it head that I had never notice before. Photo 2 shows interference between the front control rod and a horizontal member. This occurs when you push the cyclic forward. This prevents it from getting the full 12 degrees called for in the rigging manual. In researching the problem I found that the forward control rod was a full 1" too long compared to the drawings. I shortened and rethreaded it a couple of times but it is still too long.
I will check with the factory next week to see if they have any comments.
