I was at a car show and came across a vendor that had a nice machined aluminum PCV vent. Photo 1 shows the vent dissassembled. I turned a smal adapter on the lathe that slipped inside and had a 1/4" NPT female pipe thread. Photo 2 shows where I welded it into the base of the vent. Photo 3 shows it installed on the ship.
If you look very closely at Photo 3 you can see where I drilled a hole through the top into the base that allows me to safety wire the top to the base. To fill the transmission I simply cut the safety wire and unscrew the top and I can pour the oil in.
