Brief Description: Tighten and Adjust Transmisison and Control Rods
Had a good day working on the ship. I got all 7 of the mounting bolts torqued and cotter keyed. Then came drilling the upper supports. This was much easier than I expected. Everything is to tight there were no alignment issues. I drilled with a 1/8" drill first then moved up to one that was about .005" smaller than the finished hole then I reamed it to size with a 1/4" reamer. That done I installed the bolts, torqued and cotter keyed.
The first picture shows how I set the swashplate to the proper height. The instructions call for 2 5/8" to the bottom of the swash plate. What you see are 1-2-3 blocks with a 5/8" piece of tubing (what I had handy) sitting on top. I supported the swash plate with three of these then adjusted the control rods till they fit. I did have to do some fiddling with the pitch control rod/cyclic. But no big deal.
The last picture is the adapter for the bottom of the carb to attach the SCAT tubing. I welded an extra 3" scat adapter to some 0.062" plate. I welded the inside so it would not be visible.
