Brief Description:  Instrument Pod Pedestal

Time to start over. One other problem with the tube is the difficulty in removing the floor board with it installed. It would need to slide up into the pod in order to clear the floor. I finally decided that I did not like the idea of just sliding it up.

Back to more conventional designs. In the picture you can see my attemps. Fourth time is the charm. The second picture is the state I left it when I quit last night. The pedestal sits on the floor board facing the wrong way. the notch in the floor is where the wiring etc. goes up into the pod. The opening in the pedestal will face the other direction. I will have a removeable panel on it so that I can unscrew it from the floor. The floor will have nut plates to facilitate the removal.

I was ready to install the nut plates when I realize that my depth stop/countersink had disappeared. I spent way too much time looking for it and decided that was an omen to quit before I screwed something else up. I have extra depth stops but not the countersink, looks like a trip to The Yard is in order on Monday.

This would not take so long if I didn't have to spend so much time designing and therefore remaking so many parts.
