Brief Description:  Bubble Mounting

THE BUBBLE IS MOUNTED!!
For those of you unfamiliar with sheet metal work. Those are not porcupine quills, they are clecos. These hold all of the parts in place until the rivets are driven. All of the exterior sheetmetal is fitted then it is removed and the frame will be powder coated.

After powder coating it will be reassembled using the clecos and shipped to me. When I get it it, I will take the bubble off and hide it for quite a while. I will be fabricating the interior panels. These panels will be hiding all of the tubing that you see in these shots.

After all of the sheet metal is finished, it will be removed again and I will paint in interior pieces. reinstall, rivet then paint the exterior.

The reason the bubble looks cloudy is that it has a protective coating on it. It is a really thick goo to keep it from getting scratched in shipping and during the build. It is the very last thing to do before the first flight.

Been spending alot of time on the phone with Sean concerning the avionics. I was hoping to avoid having any mechanical switches and circuit breakers. Unfortunately I will have a conventional keyed mags switch, a Master and an alternator switch. It also looks like I will have to have a couple of relays in order for the chip detectors to enuciate on the EFIS.

Also found out that the VP-X Sport electronic circuit breaker box is currently vaporware, like the 5 axis autopilot on the EFIS. They will start shipping in December (reportedly) but they have an empty box with connectors that they will ship out for making sure that all the wiring runs will be the right length.
