Riveted side plate. Mounted right landing gear mount. After looking for the 4 holes to drill and finding no pilot holes, realized that you need to cleco on the side skin which has the holes. Plans are silent, could be they are assuming you know what is going on!
Drilled all mount holes. Installed left gear mount. Had to remove a bunch from the bottom where the mount protrudes. Other side was Ok as cut at the factory, but this side needed almost 1/4 " removed to get clearance. Drilled all holes, removed gear mounts, deburred and added the 4 nutplats that anchor to forward brace. The section is complete!
Slid fues. completely onto the Harbor Freight rolling/adjustable table modified with 2X4s to support the width of the fues. Appeares quite stable and you can put a lot of pressure on the ends before it starts to move. May need to anchor it to the spars later. Nlow the fues can go up or down about 2' to provide a comfortable working level.
