Brief Description:  Mount Light Speed, cooling fan, wire holes

Friday and Saturday. Spent a lot of time laying out the Light Speed Ignition box location. It needs to be on 1" standoffs (from DigiKey) to clear the insulation on the firewall. Planned to put it behind the rudder pedals on the right. After figuring the best location, it would not provide the required clearance with full right rudder and brake deflection. Was close, but not quite.

Finally decided to put it in the next bay on the top of the firewall. Access is very bad, but by using the male/female standoffs where the male end is double nutted to the Ignition box, and using allen screws with safety wire holes on the firewall, it is relatively easily removed. Accessing the wires is another story, but I can use a service loop for the plugs and just reach up and remove the output conectors. They will run to just over by the oil cooler 6" hose to avoid the oil filter area. The line to the crank sensor will go out along the motor mount to the front of the engine.

Located the cooling fan just above the rudder pedal tube where the Light Speed box was to go.

Drilled all the holes in the firewall and mounted the stuff.

Friday I updated the Dynon system to version 6 and all the databases. Everything came out Ok, but while one display was updated, the other said that ADHARS and the EMS were failed. With both updated everything was still Ok.

Put in one of the extra J type thermocouples at the EMS. Programed it as a TEST point and put it on the EMS display. Can move it to anyplace in the engine compartment to look at operating temperatures. Will put the second one in the cabin area.

Ran another shielded cable from the EMS plug to the Light Speed because this upgrade changed one of the EMS sensors to a type "C" which can deal with MV signals. I can now display the Light Speed timing on the EMS screen. Wanted to before, but there were only 2 of that type inputs and were both used. Adding the extra wire to the main run was not fun with it laced, but a wire spoon made it possible, just not
