Brief Description:  Transponder and ADSB

Same photo as yesterday. Worked trying to get the transponder and ADSB receiver to work. Tried everything several times, rung the wires out twice. Finally called the Dynon help line. Great people. Very friendly and understanding of self induced stupidity.

Well, the Transponder Serial Port RX connects to the .... Display Serial Port TX. Just like the manual says. DUH.... At least he was kind enough to say that it perhaps their most common problem with new installs! I had the same issue with the -6A and the intercom where the intercom audio out was the radio audio in.

With my homemade hub it was just a matter of switching 10 pairs of wires on two Dsubs to make the ins go to the outs, about 20 minutes work.

Amazing to say the Transponder and ADSB receiver came to life. In our location I get an ADSB signal most of the time. Watched a plane go by the area about 10 miles west and climbing. Saw a couple more before I lost the signal. Played with the system and EMS and had to show it to a couple of pilots including a Taylorcraft minimalist. Both were impressed, but the Taylorcraft was not ready to switch. The other is building a -12 so he was happy to see what he will be getting.
