Made plates for locks. Drilled out and mounted them in each door. Recess the lock enough to provide about 1/8" clearance to the outside handle.
Assembled left door and mounted. Mounted front and rear guide blocks on fues and tried to put on door. Rear block is too big. Checked stock Vans block and it was 1/4" thick, Plane Around is 1/2". Cut down Plane Around block downto 1/4" and door goes in place. Front block is Ok at its existing thickness, will thin it out about 1/16 when it comes out.
Door latches well with some force. You could not unlatch it with the outside handle, but checking the gap between the door and the canopy top I discovered it is touching in 3 places. Need to sand it down as I suspected.
Photo 3 shows the lock location from the outside and the flox filling the rivets holding the lockplate (pop rivets).. Note everything is installed with AN bolts and hardware store nuts. Why fight allen screws and lock nuts when something is comming apart every five minutes. Save the good stuff until the last.
