Brief Description:  Vertical Stabilser (Fin)

Continued on with the Fin, having mocked-up, edge prepared de-burred whilst waiting for my HS skins. Very straightforward and I now realise that I have fallen in love with my Scotchbrite wheel!! That thing makes short work of edge finishing and with careful manipulation, you can use the edge of the wheel to get into nearly all the nooks and crannies of the webs.

Lot of holes on this assembly to de-burr and I have now reverted to the traditional de-burring method of using a large drill, tried the standard de-burring tools, and the so-called speed be-burrer, but I prefer the traditional method, just wrap some tape round the shank to make it easier to grip and to provide a 'handle' and I think you get a far superior finish. Also tried thinning the the primer with 25% distilled water, you cannot really tell in pic 2, but the finish is even better than the HS. Will be always thinning from now on.

After dimpling the rear spar and countersinking the spar doubler, commenced rivetting the the rear spar assembly. Very pleased with the flush rivet setting, pic 3, which will hopefully assist with the fuselage marry-up further downstream.

Happy New Year to anyone who gets this far on my site. Wonder if she'll fly this year? Hope so!!
