Number of Hours:  1.50
Manual Reference:  6-4
Brief Description:  HS Finishing 2

Nailed on the RH HS Front Spar and clecoed the skin to the skeleton - pic 1.

With Gem's help, had the skins rivetted in an hour and then a quick whistle over with a brush to prime the rivets and touch up where the bucking bar/watch/dirty fingers spoil the primer finish - pic 2.

HS-405 was pneumatically squeezed, produces a lovely job - pic 3.

Overall very straighforward. Couple of points to note are the different rivet sizes where the ribs intersect with HS-702. Also don't, as I did, get into rivet mania and bang a rivet in every hole, you need to leave the 5 open, as shown on the plans, for fitting the empennage fairing later in the build. Can't believe I did it twice!! Lastly, I wasn't too happy with the dimpling, it was definitely acceptable for sure, but I started lightly countersing the skin too, takes seconds and the fit is superb. You only need to take a slither off the skin but the results are gorgeous. Where possibleI'll be doing this to all the skins in future, with the thicker ones. Got a horrible feeling that at the end I won't be satisfied with the LH HS and will build a new HS!!!
