Finished the last little bit of the second horizontal stab. I was a bit over zealous thinking I'd finish it last night. I basically had to glue down the edges of the second half, and shrink the second side.
Jim came over and we covered the vertical stab. There were some moments when I didn't think it was going to come out too well, but dang if it doesn't look great! I will take a picture tomorrow when I get my camera back and post it here with the Jolly Roger in place.
We put the ailerons/flaps on and shrunk all the covering at 350...the left ail/flap merge was way tight, the right one, however was off by approx 2". By flexing, heating, bending, swearing, and screaming we were able to get both of them looking quite good.
I drilled the holes for the nav/strobe lights. I should have installed those nutplates before I riveted the wingtips on.
We shrunk all the parts at max temp today, so everything is done from that regard. I will probably go through tomorrow night and spend some time checking, heating, and shrinking the leading and trailing edges all over again, just to be sure before the pink stuff starts.
Finally, I think I decided I'd redrill all the rivet holes for the wings. I know if I leave them the way they are, it will royally piss me off for YEARS to come.
