Brief Description:  Left Elevator Skeleton

Weather starting to get a little cool. How I wish our garage didn't face West!! Cleaned out the garage yesterday and got reorganized. Up early this morning to try to get some progress started on finishing up the left elevator.

Match drilled the spar next to the trim tab to the skin. Deburred the holes and dimpled skin and bottom of the spar. I had to machine countersink the holes in the top of that spar so that the piano hinge will fit flush against it up underneath.

After that I decided to go ahead and rivet the skeleton together. I still need to work on the electric trim hole in the bottom of the elevator next but this way the skeleton is ready to go. I forgot that I would have to buck most of these rivets because of the double overhang of the ribs backed to each other. Oh well, it went very well. I think I am getting much better at bucking and riveting. Especially the 1/8" rivets. I didn't leave any more half moons like in previous attempts.
