Brief Description:  Priming

Haven't worked in a while... been to cold and getting to the point where I need to try priming the parts. One day on the job, I was delivering to Temple Color. I asked the owner if he knew anything of a good primer for Aluminum. He showed me a spray can of Marhyde self etching primer. I told him I had heard of that very item and asked him how much for a can. He gave it to me and said I could have it free of charge! How awesome.

I have been studying all the online stuff and cussing and discussing the primer issues. I am adopting the phylosophy of less is better and plan on only priming where necessary and using light coats.

Finally warm enough to set up a table outside in the sun. A little windy but will have to do. Sprayed the reinforcement pieces and also the ribs. I thought the ribs were supposed to be alclad, but they seemed dull when compared to the skins, so will prime lightly just in case.

Riveted Rear Spar to Reinforcement bars. My hand squeezer is awesome!
