Brief Description: Bending Front Reinforcement Angles
Bent the 710 and 714 using a vise attached to the workbench. Attempted to use angle set in protractor but kept getting different angles. Decided to make a 6 degree template out of a coke case pasteboard to use as a gauge. That worked much better for me. I still don't think they are perfect, but very close and they should match up on final assembly. Picture below shows what they look like later after I primed them.
Cut notches in the HS-702 front spars. Matchdrilled front spars to the reinforcement angles. Deburred all. Dimpled 4 holes in spars, countersunk 4 holes in reinforcement bars per plans.
Nearly had a heart-attack! Realized I drilled wrong size holes in the HS609-PP rear spar reinforcement bars! Actually I underdrilled them with the #40 bits and should be #30. That was a good lesson on plans reading. Redrilled those holes today and deburred bars and spar.
