Today I sat in my airplane for the first time. I gotta tell you, it was very satisfying. I felt a little like a kid who can't reach the dinner table because there weren't any seat cushions, but it was an amazing feeling to be sitting in a vehicle I built from scratch with my own hands. I spent a lot of time finishing up the rear spar attachments and landing gear attachments - all things with bolts to be torqued. This pretty much finishes up the riveting portion of the lower fuselage. What's on my plate now is finishing up the welding of the steering rod bolts on the rudder pedals and getting those in so I can secure the firewall, and mounting my flap motor and adjusting the linkage while I can still get to it. Oh yeah, and the arm rest cover. I'm leaving for Texas on Tuesday, so I'l probably let most of this stuff perk until I get back, although you know I'll be in the shop messing with something tomorrow.
