Brief Description:  Rear Channel & Flap Mechanism

I decided to spend today (my birthday) doing one of my favorite things - working on my airplane! I slowly and deliberately worked out all of the rear channel stuff - drilling holes to their final size and preparing to rivet them before tackling the flap mechanism. It was a bit tricky, but you just have to take your time and get every little step right. At one point, I couldn't figure out how to hold the flap arm bracket in place and drill it too. No clamp would fit, and as you can see by the pics, it's in a fairly inaccessible place. I went to Ace Hardware and got some of those 3M squares with the super adhesive on them, stuck a couple to the back of the bracket, and was able to drill it into position perfectly. I just pulled it off afterward and peeled the squares off. Pretty cool trick. Next I'll be joining the cabin floor to the back half of the fuselage for good. That's why I wanted to get this out of the way while I could still reach it.
