Brief Description:  Gear Fittings and Uprights

Adding the gear uprights really starts to give the fuselage some strength. I had to wait for a few days to finish these up because I had to order a bit more angle from Aircraft Spruce. Seems SOMEONE cut one of the angles 5mm too short. In my defense, it was resting on the little lip of a cleco, and I actually measured it three times before cutting. The other little hitch is the gear upright gussets. If you lay the gussets inside the angles as specified, there's no way to have a proper edge distance. You can actually see in the picture that it's too close. What I'll probably end up doing (because this kind of thing botheres me) is put in a rivet between those using proper edge distance. Just an example of the physical impossibility I talked about in my last log. All things considered, fuselage construction is going well. I'm glad I didn't start with it though. There's a little interpretation/extrapolation that's needed that I wouldn't have been comfortable with as a newbie.
