There's more to the fuselage inspection door than meets the eye. It's got a lot of parts, and takes a while to get everything figure out and placed where it's supposed to be. The plans call for a piece of .025 bent diagonally like an air conditioner duct. I made mine and started to put it on, but really didn't like the way it looked, so I came up with a different solution. Mine is .032 thick with a piece of "L" angle through the middle. A little heavier than what the plans call for, and only slightly. I think this looks much better, and will work better with the door clearance I'm planning. I laid out and drilled the nut plates (23 of them) using the nut plate jig. This took a little time and patience, but the result will be worth it. It's worth mentioning that I actually mis-measured my second door. I put the center line 10mm too far to one side, so this is actually the third door I had to make. It's the simple things...
