Brief Description:  Fuselage Rear Channel & Floor Stiffener

Ok, here's a couple of more parts for your viewing pleasure. A couple of notes - even though the rear channel looks like a simple channel, there are a couple of things to watch out for if you're scratchbuilding. There are 5-degree angles you need to trim into the sides to compensate for the fuselage tapering (I suppose at this point.) The second thing is that the drawings show a REAR view - something I almost missed. Had I missed this detail it would have resulted in my drilling the holes in the wrong spot (and an extended bout of loud, vigorous, foul verbal gymnastics.) Looking ahead in the plans it seems that the days of making simple channels are coming to a close. There are some fairly involved parts in the fuselage. Some of these parts will test my fabrication skills, and some that I'll just buy from ZAC. For example, at first glance, the gear channel appears to be a simple "measure it and bend it" kinda thing, however there's no way to get the compound bend into my brake. The plans also specify an INSIDE channel measurement of 200mm - a little different than what I'm used to. My idea is to bend the end flanges on the brake, then make a form block with a measurement of 200mm across and hammer the second bend over. These are the kinds of challenges I'm starting to run into - "How do I make it do THAT?" Good metal exercise. I'm up for it.
