Brief Description:  Reconfiguration of Shop/Table Construction

Reconfigured the skunkworks today for construction of the wings and longer parts of the plane. I added a 4'x4' extension to my table, and re-oriented it lengthwise into the garage. I also took the opportunity to do some fine tweaking as far as the flatness and degree of level of the table. What I've found out is that my garage slab is WAY out of level. I had to shim the east end of the table over 3/4" to bring it level. This out-of-level condition may have been done to expedite drainage in the event of flooding, or it may just be shoddy workmanship. I can't really complain though. I live in state-provided housing as part of my job as a park ranger. I guess the next airplane-building park ranger will have to figure all of this out for themselves too! The good news is that the whole business is now as flat and level as I can measure it for the rest of the project. I've had to shim a little here and there in the construction of the other parts, and I promised myself that when it came time to reconfigure, I'd do it right, and I did. This is exciting - it's like the beginning of phase two of construction - the wings proper and the fuselage. Oh, and my shop may look junky, but I can find anything I need, and I usually have what I need on hand.
