Brief Description:  Left Aileron Mounting

Spent some time today tinkering and mounting the left aileron. I was going to mount the left flap while I had the wing upside-down earlier, but decided that placement of the aileron was more critical, so I did it first. I'll just have to flip the wing one more time to mount the flap, but the aileron REALLY has to be in the right place. That aileron has been stored up in the rafters for well over a year - check out the difference. I'm going to polish my plane, so it will eventually all be a mirror finish, but it sure has a long way to go from here! Before I do the leading edge, I'm going to take care of the LRI and Pitot/Static plumbing, and installing and wiring the aileron trim tab motor. Lots of details, but hey, I'm in no hurry. Really good news though. I'm going to be shipping off my Corvair crankshaft Monday to have it magnafluxed, ground, polished, tapped, and nitrided. If none of that makes sense to you, just know that to properly convert a Corvair crank for flight, all (or most) of that stuff needs to be done to it. I built my shipping crate today from 1/4 plywood and 1"x 2" and will post pics tomorrow as I get it ready to ship off. As I finish the wings and start the fuselage, it's time to start working on the engine so I'll have something to hang off the fuselage when it gets done. This will be an expensive part of the project, but if I spread it out over a long enough time, it's do-able.
