Brief Description: Fabrication of 3-Piece Nose Skins
I measured, sheared, and bent the nose skins this morning. I measured them to 900mm - slightly larger than called for. This gives me peace-of-mind knowing they'll fit, and a minimum of material is wasted. I'm going with the 3-piece method so that it will be easier to attach, and I'll have access to the wing tank should I ever need it. I used 58mm spacer blocks, and pressed the skin down with a 2x6. Decidedly low-tech, but worked great. The nose radius is smooth and looks to match the nose ribs closely.
