I spent about two hours over the last few days - 15 minutes at a time - fabricating the rear channel parts including the plates for the Heintz-approved rear splice. The parts turned out perfectly dimensioned, thanks again to Larry Winger's bend line spreadsheet. That thing is turning out to be one of the most valuable tools in my arsenal. Taking careful measurements of the inside of the channels, I was able to calculate and perfectly bend splice plates the first time that fit perfectly inside the rear channels. I'll be making he actual splices soon, and continuing on the great rib-forming exercise.
