I've spent a lot of time drilling out rivets and replacing them with larger ones per the XL plans. Re-building the horns and making them fit the existing installation was much harder than fabricating them the first time. This time they had to fit pre-existing holes! I'm finally to the point of finishing up the tail. I've still got a little trimming, etc. to do, but for the most part I'm creeping up on having a complete empennage. The elevator was much more difficult than I had imagined. Of course it didn't help that I switched models mid-stream and had to make a lot of revisions, but having a full-length trim tab and working to an exact standard is very time consuming. Don't get me wrong, I'm having a blast, but I'm ready to put the empennage to bed and start on the wings. Flaps first, then ailerons, then wings.
My fourth upper stab horn. Jeeez.
The upper horn assembly still missing it's back strap.
It's finally beginning to look like the tail of an airplane.
