After finishing up the front top skin, I started tackling some of the final details of the fuselage proper. The center console is one of those things I love about this airplane, so it was fun to work on. It's a pretty tedious job - lots of small l-angles to be measured and drilled, but the end result looks good, so it's worth taking your time. After doing final drilling and as much installation as I'm going to do on it, I'll move forward and finish up the rudder pedals before riveting the firewall in place. I'm glad I waited on the firewall. It made getting to the console a lot easier, and will make getting to the rudder pedals a snap as well.
